A LITTLE ABOUT ME

What is it that inspires you? For me, it's discovering the latest in nutritional science, fitness and wellness, and I want to share it all with you!

I have always loved science. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology, and a Master's degree in Science. My MSc thesis explored how exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals during pregnancy can affect our health. Now, I am a PhD student in Population Health, and loving it!

Fitness and nutrition have always been central to my life. As an athlete, I played soccer for over 20 years, and throughout university in the NCAA Division I. After experiencing an ACL injury and food intolerances, I had to work hard to get back into shape and change my diet.

I didn't know where to start! I began to do my own research, and eventually figured out exactly what worked for me to get into great shape and feel my best, both mentally and physically. That's where my passion for nutrition and wellness began.

Studying endocrine disrupting chemicals has made me much more aware of the importance of using clean/natural products whenever possible. I've changed my cosmetics, toiletries, cleaning products and skincare to reduce my exposure as much as I can. I'll show you how to do the same!

I have experienced firsthand the transformative effects of changing my diet and lifestyle, and incorporating wellness practices into my daily life. I've never felt better! Now, I want to share my knowledge to help others live a vibrant life.

A Spoonful of Science is truly my  passion project, and I hope you enjoy browsing my site. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover what inspires you as well. Read on, learn something new, and enjoy!
