Mini Snickers Bites

These are my new favourite sweet treat. Chewy, nutty and chocolatey… they’re perfect for an afternoon pick me up or for a sweet bite after dinner.

Did you know?? Refined sugars can impact your hormones, including your sleep hormones to compromise your sleep quality. A Snickers bar contains 30 grams of sugar, a ton of fat, and is devoid of nutrients. Chocolate and sugar can be a tempting quick fix to give us a boost of energy, but there are better alternatives! No more heading to the vending machine around that 4 pm slump- these new and improved mini snickers bites will become a new staple. Not only will they give you energy to power through the rest of your day, they're packed with nutrients, fiber, and healthy fats for a snack that you'll feel good about eating.

There are so simple to make, and unbelievably delicious. Trust me, you'll want to make these right now!

You'll need:

-As many medjool dates as you'd like (1 date= 1 "mini" snickers bite)

-Peanut butter ( swap this out for any other nut or seed butter)

-Roasted, salted peanuts (swap this out for any other roasted nut/seeds)

-Dark chocolate chips ( you can use any chocolate you'd like!)

-Flaky sea salt (or use table salt)

How-to:

  1. Open up and de-pit each date.

  2. Fill each date with nut butter.

  3. Add in nuts of choice.

  4. Close the stuffed date as much as you can.

  5. Dip each date in melted dark chocolate, and sprinkle with sea salt.

  6. Place in the freezer to set for 10 minutes.

  7. Serve and enjoy!

*Store them in the freezer, and let thaw for a couple of minutes before serving. Let me know what you think!
